Help Families Bereaved by a Suicide Loss

What is it really like to lose someone you love to suicide? Supporting Survivors of Suicide Loss is a guide developed specifically for funeral directors that explores that question and is the basis of this webinar. You’ll hear practical advice about talking with those who are bereaved by a suicide loss and suggestions for providing high-quality services to them. You will receive useful resources for suicide loss survivors, including the referenced guide, and suggestions for how you as a funeral director can access support for yourself.

 Key Takeaways:

  • Effectively facilitate an arrangement conference with families who have lost someone by suicide
  • Communicate more effectively with grieving families
  • Discover useful resources for suicide loss survivors

Cheri Andes is the Director of Grief Support Services for Samaritans, Inc.  She works with a team of twenty-five suicide loss survivors who run peer-led grief support groups for those grieving a suicide loss and who also do home visits with suicide loss survivors.
