Presenters:

Allan Cole is a dedicated service professional with a long-standing commitment to service excellence, public service, and meaningful community volunteer activities that contribute to people in need and those less fortunate in our society. His contributions have made an impact at the local level, provincially, nationally, and internationally. His belief in and support of education has enabled many to secure their place in their chosen field of endeavor. Allan is a recognized leader with a steadfast determination to serve the needs of others during enormous tragedy and loss of life to lessen the burden for grieving families and communities. A consistent forward thinking problem solver that strives to address complex problems with common sense solutions and responses.

Jeremy Field OBE, Managing Director of CPJ Field & Co since 2008, brings a wealth of experience to the funeral profession. As President of the National Association of Funeral Directors from 2016 to 2017, his dedicated efforts during the challenging COVID pandemic earned him an OBE in the 2022 New Year’s Honors. With a background in the Worshipful Company of Upholders since 1999, Jeremy was honored with a Master Certificate for excellence in funeral directing by the Lord Mayor of London in 2023. Beyond his industry contributions, Jeremy serves as an Ambassador for the Sussex Community Foundation and supports Project Eileen, a charity aiding young people in navigating conversations about death. Currently chairing the Global Advisory Group for the National Funeral Directors Association, he remains actively involved in Parliamentary advocacy for the NAFD.

A fourth-generation funeral director, William Wappner is the former owner of Wappner Funeral Directors in Mansfield, Ontario and Ashland, Ohio. William graduated summa cum laude from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1975. He received the school’s Nunamaker Award for top scholastic achievement. He entered the family business after college. William has committed himself to the funeral service profession on a state, national, and international level. On the International level William is the NFDA Delegate to FIAT-IFTA, the World Organization of Funeral Operatives, and is serving as First Vice President and going in as President in September. William has served as NFDA’s Asia Ambassador to funeral service for several years.

Gisela Adissi, the Founder of Flow Death Care Consulting, is a dedicated professional specializing in business development within the death care industry. With a rich background, she previously held the esteemed position of President at Acembra / Sincep (Association and Syndicate of Private Cemeteries and Crematories in Brazil). Gisela is a true scholar and enthusiast in the realms of loss and grieving. Boasting over two decades of experience, she steered the helm as the CEO of a prominent Brazilian funeral business group from 2002 to 2019. Additionally, she contributes her expertise as a Board member of ALPAR (Latin America Association of the funeral sector) and has taken on the pivotal role of Chairperson for the Global Advisory Group of NFDA. Gisela stands as one of the influential founding women behind “Let’s Talk About Grieving?” a transformative digital platform reshaping the discourse surrounding grief if Brazil since its inception in 2015. Her global perspective extends beyond boarders, having visited over 25 countries to meticulously research rituals and ceremonies.
