Step-by-step techniques will be illustrated to make viewing possible when faced with the worst cases imaginable. Discover how to chemically treat and restore various levels of decomposed tissue and learn what is needed to rebuild lost tissue.

  1. Using correct techniques and chemicals for medical situations

We’ll look at modern medicine and what it can do to the human body and the challenges faced by embalmers. Chemical selection and techniques are more important to the extraordinary embalmer than ever before. We’ll examine conditions including edema, jaundice, cancer, and severe emaciation and discuss how to solve these modern-day dilemmas in the preparation room.

  1. Recreating facial structure for viewing

Expand your knowledge and comfort level to tackle the most difficult cases. We’ll go step-by-step through traumatic cases and explore forensic reconstruction techniques for victims including complete head crush, burns and gunshot wounds. You’ll discover the skills that extraordinary embalmers possess that allow families to see their loved one for that final goodbye.

 

About the Presenters

Karl Wenzel was born and raised in Guelph, Ontario Canada. After graduating college and a brief career law enforcement Karl enrolled in mortuary school at Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham Alabama.  Karl earned his degree in mortuary Science in 1997 and is a graduate of Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming Skills.  Karl founded the Canadian School of Advanced PREP with the goal to educate and share his experience and skills with embalmers across the world, to allow everyone the opportunity to grow within themselves professionally through continued education.

 

Glyn Tallon studied embalming at the Belfast College of Embalming in Northern Ireland. He was awarded a Diploma in Embalming and is a registered member with "The British Institute of Embalmers".  Glyn also joined membership with "The European Association of Embalmers" in 2000. Whilst studying embalming, Glyn obtained an Anatomical Pathology Technologist Certificate in 1999 in conjunction with "The Royal Institute of Public Health and Hygiene". Glyn's dedication to his profession as a Professional Embalmer and his desire to master the techniques in embalming enrolled him with "The Fountain National Academy of Professional Embalming Skills" (FNA) Missouri, USA.
