Erin Wilson’s journey to becoming the first female president of the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service reflects her dedication to funeral service and education. As alumna of the institute, she began her career as a licensed funeral director and embalmer before transitioning into education. Combining her funeral service experience with academic credentials, including a Master of Science in Human Relations and Business, she joined the Dallas Institute faculty in 2019. She was named Academic Dean in 2021 and Program Director in 2022. Actively involved in professional organizations and committees, she demonstrates ongoing commitment to the field. Under her leadership, the institution has seen improved student retention, graduation rates, and National Board Exam outcomes. Her historic appointment and professional journey highlight her lasting impact on both the institution and the broader funeral service profession.
